Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine
BA(Hons). Lic.Ac. MBAcC. DipCHM. MRCHM.
I hold a Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture, which is a three year degree level qualification. My training was extensive with a focus on the Five Element style of practice. This means that I will consider your main health problem, together with a holistic approach to you as an individual. Even before I discovered the wonderful world of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, I had always had a fascination with herbs and it had long been my aim to train in this discipline. Challenging times often present opportunities, and it was during the lockdowns of the Covid19 pandemic that I began my Diploma with the White Crane Academy, currently the only UK establishment (as far as I know) to offer a three year course and incorporate two years of clinical supervision where I saw patients with conditions ranging from anxiety and insomnia to severe eczema and perimenopausal bloating. It is with this qualification and experience that I am now delighted to offer Chinese Herbal medicine alongside or as an alternative to acupuncture.
I am a member of both the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and adhere to their Codes of Safe Practice and Professional conduct.
I am passionate about expanding my knowledge of this system of medicine and have completed a number of further specialist training courses, including treating musculoskeletal injuries, and Paediatric Tui’na, which is a type of medical massage particularly relevant for children, as treatments can be effectively carried out without the need for needles.
